The transport and mobility infrastructures that enable the movement of people and goods are the key to the running of society. Even so, the transport–In all its forms– continues being responsible for almost a quarter of the global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, being the sector that emitted most CO2 in 2019 and the one that is offering the worst reduction expectations. In fact, more than the 70% of emissions from transport are due to motor vehicle traffic and a good part of them match to heavy transport.
In order to change this situation and in accordance with the Circular Economy Strategy and the main strategic lines of the Circular Economy Action Plan; the manufacturer of ecological engines, BeGas, reaffirms its commitment to local corporations and private companies. And it does so through the repowering service for heavy vehicles with a period of life between three and ten years old, which allows promoting a new production and consumption model focused on reducing waste and promoting the reuse and exploitation of their transport fleets.
Diesel vehicle repowering service
In order to jointly accelerate the decarbonisation of transport and provide innovative solutions to the heavy vehicle sector, BeGas, apart from installing its engines in new vehicles, proposes an alternative that at the moment is unique in the European market:the replacement of trucks and city buses diesel engines with 100% autogas or biopropane BeGas AVG engines,with the Euro VI-D approval.A wager that promotes the use of fleets destined for public services with the installation of an engine that drastically reduces the vehicle emissions and grants the Eco-DGT environmental label.
With the installation of BeGas engines, the cycle of the circular economy is closed; on the one hand, with the reuse of vehicles and avoiding the accumulation of more than 80,000 kg of new waste that would be by a small fleet of five buses, as an example. And on the other hand, with the use of biopropane, since it is a renewable fuel with a completely organic origin.
These characteristics reaffirm that BeGas engines are the best option for local administrations to move towards neutral emissions, promoting the use of less polluting alternative energies that, at the same time, allow energy and economic efficiency if we are talking about public spending.
With them, cities and municipalities with fewer resources will also be able to be adapted to the new environmental requirements and will accelerate the decarbonisation of their fleets without the need to make a large financial investment. The cost of this operation is approximately five times less than the cost of acquiring a new vehicle.
