After closing its first edition in Bizkaia last week with some 2,400 professional visitors, 70 exhibiting companies and more than 50 speakers, the Empack and Logistics & Automation show will return to Bilbao on February 28 and 29.

BILBAO. For two days, the event brought together the latest solutions in packaging, automation, warehousing, logistics and transportation, being the first meeting point for professionals in the sector in the northern part of Spain.

One of the keys to its success has been the high interest of the technical conferences held and the quality and experience of its speakers, as was shown last Thursday in the session "Present and future of land freight transport in Euskadi" which, organized by the Basque Institute of Logistics and Sustainable Mobility-Mugikortasun Iraunkorra ta Logistikako Euskal Erakundea (IVL-Lee) addressed the current situation, the regulatory framework and future prospects for land freight transport with combustion vehicles, focusing on the impact of the changes that are being undertaken in this necessary activity.

Thus, it became clear that land freight transport does have the capacity to move forward in harmony and in a coordinated manner with the challenges posed by the decarbonization of the sector.

Expert panels

The panelists gathered in the conference room of Transport & Delivery, sponsored by Celeritas, addressed the current situation, the regulatory framework and the challenges posed by the decarbonization of the sector, analyzing the casuistry and particularities existing between heavy transport and Urban Distribution of Goods (DUM) in two round tables.

The round table "Present and future of land freight transport in the Basque Country" was moderated by Zuberoa Elorriaga, maritime and transport lawyer of the firm Aiyon Abogados.
