The rental company AMG Alquiler de Maquinaria, in collaboration with REPSOL, will present on January 10 at Finca La Cónsula, in the Palacio de Cristal, in Churriana, Malaga, its project to transform generator sets to LPG. The objective is to move towards a more sustainable future, according to AMG and Repsol.
AMG in collaboration with BeGas, a manufacturer of ecological engines for heavy vehicles specializing in alternative energies, and together with REPSOL, a global multi-energy company, have embarked on a project through which they transform the diesel engine of the generator set so that it runs simultaneously on diesel fuel and LPG. This operation is already carried out in industrial vehicles to reduce their polluting emissions and now, thanks to this project, it will be implemented in a power generating unit intended to supply electricity in environments where the grid does not reach.
PROCESS:

WHAT IS LPG?
It is a liquefied gas from a mixture of butane and propane gas. Green energy recognized by the European Union as an alternative fuel in Directive 2014/94/EU. It is the most widely used alternative fuel in the world in different sectors. It is a non-discriminatory fuel capable of reaching any environment or geographical area. When transported in tanker trucks, it does not depend on the gas network. It is safe. It is not toxic or corrosive. It meets the same safety requirements and standards, and has the lowest flammability range.
HOW DO WE WORK TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE?
LPG, also known as AutoGas, achieves:
Up to 14% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to gasoline.
96% reduction in NOx emissions compared to diesel.
99% reduction in particle emissions.
50% reduction in noise levels.

BeGas is a research-based technology company founded in 2015. They have a team of 50 people, including engineers, doctors and PhDs specialising in alternative propulsion systems for heavy vehicles. BeGas wants to contribute to a sustainable future in urban transport of people and goods. During this time, they have developed the first BeGas AVG Euro VI E engine in Europe, approved for industrial vehicles – trucks and urban buses – powered 100% by autogas.
They also have a 4-cylinder engine for integration into last-mile vehicles, capable of running on alternative fuels, adapted to new non-fossil energies.
BEGAS ENGINES
The BeGas AVG Evo 3 engine family is available in power ratings of: 250, 280 and 320 HP. The AVG Evo 3 engines drastically reduce polluting emissions and grant the Eco-DGT environmental badge.
Available for On Road EURO VI and STAGE V applications.

The BeGas B430LG engine is available in 110 and 140 HP power ratings. A 4-cylinder autogas engine also adapted to new non-fossil fuels. Intended for last-mile commercial vehicles. Available for EURO VI and STAGE V On Road applications.

An engine that in 2020 reaches emission levels that will come into force in 2026. The latest homologation cycles carried out last July, with the new post-treatment system, have reduced the main polluting gases to practically zero, being within the levels set by the EU draft for the future Euro VII standard, which will come into force in 2026.
WHAT BEGAS OFFERS
Replacement of diesel engines in trucks and urban buses, between 3 and 10 years old, with less polluting engines. Utilization and recycling of fleets destined for public services (urban and freight transport) at a lower cost, thus contributing to the environment, the circular economy and the
